Covid Awareness

Events Policy for Covid-19 as at October 2021

When planning events Nuffield Farming will comply with the latest Government guidance concerning Covid-19, in particular, that concerning ‘Working safely during coronavirus (Covid-19) – Events and Attractions’ at: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/working-safely-during-covid-19/events-and-attractions.

The Government’s current approach is now focused around personal responsibility and voluntarily following safer behaviours.  Coronavirus remains a serious health risk and we should stay cautious to help protect ourselves and others.

Nuffield Farming will continue to monitor official guidance and review plans for its future events.  In the meantime, the following will apply to all Nuffield Farming Events:

  • All attending will be required to produce a ‘NHS Covid Pass’ (NHS COVID Pass guidance) or equivalent such as an ‘EU Digital Covid Certificate’.
  • All attending will be requested to take a lateral flow test within 24 hours of travelling to the event and confirm, on arrival by signing a registration form, that they had a negative result (See [i]).
  • Anyone attending who is unable to comply with the above will be required to take a lateral flow test before participating in the event.
  • All are requested not to attend Nuffield Farming events if:
    • Their lateral flow test is positive and/or:
    • They are displaying symptoms of Covid-19 and/or:
    • They have been in contact with someone who has tested positive within 14 days or is displaying Covid-19 symptoms.
  • All attending are encouraged to:
    • Heed the protocols at the event venue.
    • Take individual precautions as they consider appropriate, such, as wearing a face covering and/or maintaining ventilation.
    • Report to the organisers, any unexpected symptoms experienced during the event that might be related to Covid-19.

Whilst Nuffield Farming will take precautions to ensure the safety of attendees it is emphasised that your attendance is strictly at your own risk.

This policy will be reviewed and updated as necessary on a regular basis.  Any requests for further advice or guidance should be addressed to the Director.

[1] The only exception to this is if they have had Covid-19 symptoms and/or a positive PCR within the last 90 days (90 days from the onset of symptoms) unless they developed Covid-19 symptoms again within this timeframe. The clinical rationale for this is that during this 90 day window, given the low rate of reinfection, it is significantly more likely that a positive lateral flow test would be a false result, rather than someone being re-infected, thereby causing people to isolate unnecessarily.
